“10 / 40” is a collective exhibition that marks the beginning of several activities that Kubikgallery is going to develop to celebrate its 10 years of existence at the city of Porto. Kubik presented more than 40 individual shows, participated in international art fairs, maintains partnerships and collaborations with other galleries, namely in Brazil.
In this moment of reflexion about the gallery’s path over the last 10 years, in the present, and before thinking about the future, we think about those that have been following us. In this regard, for this exhibition, we’ve challenged each Kubik artist, as well as a few curators and gallerists that contributed in some way to the gallery’s journey, to invite another artist to participate on the collective, totalizing 40 artists.
This show is more than a celebration, it’s also a way to present a series of artists that have been following Kubik but never had the chance to exhibit at the gallery space.
We are interested in exploring new synergies bringing to the gallery space a set of artists, curators and gallerists whose work is intrinsic to today’s artistic panorama. A moment to reflect, a thought about what is contemporary art and, finally, to celebrate these 10 years of existence.
